Divorce

Sharon Cook is our specialist family solicitor. Having qualified in 1993 she has many years experience in advising on separation, divorce, children, financial matters and all aspects of family breakdown including pre nuptial contracts. She is a member of Resolution and the Law Society`s Family Law Panel.

Sharon is also a trained “Collaborative Lawyer” and a member of an expert group of solicitors who work together to resolve disputes amicably without going to Court. Sharon recognises that it is important to provide an alternative service to our clients whose relationship has broken down and try to avoid the traditional, often destructive journey that many clients endure. You can still receive expert, sound advice without having to go through painful and lengthy correspondence or even court hearings. Each person appoints their own Collaborative Lawyer and instead of negotiating in the traditional way by letter or phone, they all meet together to work things out face to face. Their role is to assist in reducing conflict throughout the process, help identify issues and facilitate negotiations.

Collaborative law puts you in charge and enables you to examine your own priorities and needs. It enables you to negotiate an amicable and mutually agreeable settlement with support, advice and guidance throughout the process.
